prep instructions:

Slice sausage into 8 even patties. Cook sausage in skillet over medium low heat 12 to 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning once after 7 minutes. Meanwhile, combine tomatoes, yellow pepper, red onion, basil, 4 tsp olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic powder. Brush remaining olive oil over one side of each slice of bread. Toast bread in toaster over or until broiler until lightly browned on both sides. Top each slice of bread on oiled side with 1 slice cheese, 1 cooked sausage patty and 2 tablespoons tomato mixture.
